Our Board of Directors is in charge of ensuring that The Experiential School of Greensboro lives out its mission, maintains high academic standards, and remains financially secure. The seven to nine members of the board represent diverse fields of expertise. For more information about the board members, please see their bios.
If you would like to make a public comment at a board meeting, please submit your request a week in advance of the board meeting to the Executive Director and Board President. In your email, explain the nature of the topic and who will be speaking. Each speaker has 3 minutes and this is subject to change if there are more speakers. Public comment is for 30 minutes total at the beginning of each board meeting. Speakers may not ask questions of the Board. Disruptive behavior, personal attacks on staff or students, and obscene/defamatory language are not permitted. If the request to speak is denied, the Board President will inform the requestor at least 2 days in advance of the board meeting (this process is detailed on p.8 of the Family Handbook).
Our policy outlines if you have an issue of concern, reach out to your student’s teacher first. If it isn’t resolved, next step is to reach out to the Executive Director and if there is still a need for resolution, you may file a grievance with the Board. To file a formal grievance with the Board of Directors, please fill out the grievance form (under “Family”, “Forms and Documents”) and submit it to the Executive Director and Board President. The Executive Director or the Board President will investigate the issue and if need be recommend the Grievance Committee further study the issue and recommendations. The full process for investigation, recommendations, and responses can be found under “Family”, in the Family Handbook, Appendix 1, p. 62).
We mourn the loss of a dear Board Member, Mr. Gregory Bush, who joined our Board during the first year of TESG. His wisdom and conviviality will always be remembered. Our thoughts are with his family during such a difficult time.
